The first component of the Fair - The Bike Rodeo

What is a Bike Rodeo?

A Bicycle Rodeo is a fun bicycle safety skills event that provides children an opportunity to practice and develop skills that allow them to be better bicyclists and avoid typical crashes.

It includes a variety of stations and activities such as helmet fitting and free helmets to those that need them, bicycle safety inspections, bicycle skills course for elementary, a preschool track and adaptive cycles by Outdoors for All for everyone to try. The Bike Rodeo is designed for ALL children 12 and under.

The heart of the rodeo is the bicycle skills course where kids ride their bikes through stations and get immediate feedback from an adult volunteer. Children are allowed to repeat the station or course as many times as they’d like since the goal is for participants to learn, practice and demonstrate their bike handling skills in a fun, noncompetitive atmosphere. All children will earn a certificate of completion when they’re finished.

We will have several loaner bikes available, so don’t worry if you aren’t

able to bring your own bike (though we’d recommend riding to the Strawberry Festival as a family just for the fun of it!) We invite you to participate in the Bike Rodeo and look forward to seeing you there!
