A message to our volunteers and supporters

Hi B-Town Bike Fair Volunteers and Supporters –

What a blast we had on Saturday – and we absolutely couldn’t have done it without every one of you! Whether you supported us behind the scenes or came out to work with the kids or staff a booth – this was community cooperation at its best. Words can’t express the appreciation I feel for each one of you and the unique role you filled – thank you for your support and willing spirit! You are amazing!

While the weather was a bit on the chilly side for June and there were a few drops of rain, we had lots of participants. Over a hundred kids participated in the bike rodeo by getting bikes checked out, helmets fitted (125+ given out) and riding in the bike obstacle course. Some young riders went through that obstacle course over and over and over… Eleven participants completed the awesome bicycle scavenger hunt that Brooks put together and we hope that’s just the beginning of a tradition. We also had loads of trike-riders and the adaptive cycles were once again a hit. Bikeworks received many donated bikes for their organization, kids played the bean-bag toss game, people explored the bike samples booth and we had some great Bike Art from local high school students on display.

Check out some images from the event on our blog at (and stay tuned for future Burien bike activities)…

Thanks and until next time,

Anne, Brooks and Jimmy

P.S. Who made this happen? 10 Partner Organizations, 14 Business Donors/Participants, 9 Individual Donors, 52 Volunteers – WOW!
